Joyce was born in Kingston. Her childhood days were spent on her family farm east of Napanee. She has had a passion for art since she took oil painting lessons at age nine. She now paints with watercolours, French dyes on silk and does stained glass.
Joyce has taken several courses at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto and has her Art Specialist Certificate for teaching. She also has taken art courses at Loyalist College and Queen's University. She has studied locally with the late Donnah Cameron and is presently studying with
Sharon Bower.
In 2007, she travelled to Sicily and Algonquin Park to capture the beautiful scenery. As a retired school teacher, Joyce has found that " Art" is a rewarding pastime. Her works of art have travelled around the world.
Joyce enjoys painting old barns, landscapes and florals. She is a member of the Belleville Art Association and the Quinte Arts Council. Her work is on display at the Belleville Art Association Gallery and Quinte Health Care. (Hits: 1514)
