After 30 years of living in Ottawa, and traveling to Europe, the Middle East and many parts of the United States and Canada, Mandy Bing returned home to the Quinte West area to paint full-time. While continuing to take animal portraits on commission, Mandy is currently developing an inventory of landscapes showcasing the area's beautiful farmlands and animals, rolling drumlins and rivers and lakes.
Although primarily self taught, she studied at the Haliburton School of the Arts, and taken advantage of the wisdom and tutelage of other artists whenever possible, including Bruce Heggtveit and Debbie Milling. She has
also been inspired by the drawing brilliance of the Old Masters, the exuberance of French impressionists, and contemporary painters Jamie Wyeth and Mary Pratt. Although she has dabbled in watercolour, ink and acrylics, her current medium is oil.
She is currently a member of the Belleville Arts Association, the Quinte Arts Council and the Spirit of the Hills. (Hits: 729)
