As far back as I can remember I have been interested in all forms of visual art. Born in Poland, I attended public school there and art was an important and compulsory subject, which I loved. This emphasis on art an early age provided me with a solid foundation for drawing techniques and a ready outlet for creative expression. After moving to Canada and graduating from high school I attended teacher’s college in a two year program which included art history and appreciation as well as methods for teaching art to elementary school students. After graduation my interest in art continued and I took courses in design (clothing and landscape), pottery, china painting and oil and watercolour painting. Eventually my interest became focused almost entirely on painting in various mediums.

In the early 1980’s I moved to the UK where I studied art and design for two years at Whitney College (A Levels). After returning to Canada I took oil, and watercolour painting courses from a number of teachers in Ottawa and the Quinte area. In 1995 I moved to southern Illinois and studied art for three years at an area College where I became particularly interested in the Impressionists, most especially Monet. On return to Canada in 1999 I joined the Trenton Art Club and shortly afterwards the Belleville Art Association. I have displayed my paintings at a number of art shows and juried exhibits and one of my oil paintings is featured annually as a prize at St Peter’s CWL bazaar.

My paintings now are a mixture of traditional and impressionistic oils, traditional watercolours and mixed media with particular attention to colour and texture. My paintings are displayed in private residences in Canada, the United States and England.
