well, to explore new media and styles. Presently my preference is acrylic on canvas although I still retain my love of watercolours, ink, pastels, oil paints and mixed media.
I believe the greatest impact on my art has come from the many hours that I spent in the D’Orsay Art Museum in, Paris, during the two years that I lived there. The Impressionists used colour, space and light in bold new ways. The application of the paint on the canvas was also bold and impressionistic. This has affected the way I think about and do my art work. The Impressionists loved to push paint around on the canvas and they really enjoyed the affect that was created by the very visible brush strokes.
I intend to continue to study and work with a number of art materials and to explore the endless possibilities that they offer. (Hits: 1045)
