On Tuesday, June 25, Donna McPherson and artist Jeanette Campbell took participants through a fascinating “Tribute to Belleville’s West Hill” Mini Workshop, focussing on the history of that side of the Moira River. This Belleville Art Association workshop, which was held in partnership with the John M Parrott Gallery at the Belleville Public Library, gave those involved a new insight into the architectural treasures of the West Hill district. Jeanette provided hands-on support and Donna provided the historical background and enthusiasm. The artists involved will photocopy their finished pieces in colour and the works will be added to the historical archives. Some works will probably also be shown as part of the Association’s heritage show in October at the BAA gallery.
And an added note:
Congratulations to these members of the Belleville Art Association who had work accepted in the “Art In The County” juried art show: Nadine Goulet, Sharon Kennedy, and Dona Knudsen. The show runs from June 27 – July 14 at Books & Co.,(upstairs), in the town of Picton. Hours: daily from 10 am – 6pm. Admission: $3.00
Many thanks to Dona Knudsen for text and photos. (click on any image to enlarge)
