Anne Séguin

Potter

Anne’s adventure with clay began in 1997 through an evening class, which ignited her passion for this artform. While balancing her successful career in Production Management, she continued courses at both St-Lawrence and Loyalist Colleges. Something about the transformations spoke to her, as earlier with her Chemical Engineering studies: the idea that one can alter and shape matter to create what we imagine. She further honed her skill under the treasured mentorship of ceramist Marlynn MacDonald as well as a continual learning via workshops and Kingston Potters Guild membership. Now a full-time artist, she is an active member of the Belleville Art Association, a guest with the Rednersville Road Art Tour, and member of Arts Quinte West. Anne creates both hand-built and wheel-thrown functional pieces. Her constant curiosity, engineering background, and passion for exploring various art forms culminate in beautiful creations that bring joy to everyday life.  In 2024, Anne’s vase design representing the area was selected by the City of Belleville to gift as a memento to visiting dignitaries.
