I am a budding watercolour Artist, who found a love for painting quite by accident. While navigating chronic pain this year, I realized many of my normal activities were no longer a possibility. I turned to painting to pass the time at home, starting with a little art kit I’d received as a gift. I found the hours spent painting relieved my pain and achieved a state of flow.
You may notice some East Coast elements to my paintings, and some scientific ones too. In my previous life I was a scientist, and my family is from small coastal communities in southern Newfoundland. You’ll also notice many trees in my work. The Greek root for tree is very similar to my name, which was a complete accident on my parents’ part. Whether staring at dendrites through a microscope, or hiking in the forest, I’ve always found myself drawn to these branching figures.
I’m looking to learn from and connect with artists in my broader community. Send me an email if you’d like to connect!
