Artist
Inspiration came early. As a child, I saw Tom Thompson's paintings at the National Gallery of Canada and marvelled at the colours in The Jack Pine. I won a contest drawing an eagle and received a set of Eagle pencil crayons. The path was set however it wasn't until later in life that I studied art at college and university.
I'm fascinated by the changing seasons and the impact this has on my life as a Canadian. My landscape paintings are often referenced by my photographs as I am connected to the shores of Lake Ontario and Wellers Bay.
Soft pastels have become my favourite medium. They allow the most expressive means for me to render colourful paintings.
Sometimes I use watercolour underpaintings to create a roadmap.
