Artist
Becoming an artist has been a journey of discovery, with many happy surprises along the way. I paint various subjects, always looking for intriguing figures, engaging landscapes and a hint of the mystery and moods that draw us to them.
I had often wanted to try painting but somehow put it off until I joined a local studio group just a few years ago. That was a game-changer. I found a welcoming community of creative people who shared their talents with me and nurtured my first efforts. Through this experience, I joined the Belleville Art Association and began to participate in workshops and juried shows and to really enjoy painting the world around me. I was also inspired to take community art courses at Loyalist College and earn art qualifications through the Ontario College of Teachers.
My other love is music and I have written and recorded songs and instrumental pieces under the name of Northern Tempo. It has been a great satisfaction to combine both art and music in designing the covers for my singles and a recent album, Heavy Water.
