Artist
Becoming an artist has been a journey of discovery with some interesting surprises along the way! I paint many different subjects, always looking for intriguing figures, engaging landscapes and a hint of the mystery and moods that draw us to them. My preferred medium is acrylic and I particularly enjoy capturing quintessentially Canadian scenes of people in the environment, wildlife, night skies, northern waters and ice.
A few years ago, I joined a local studio group and that was a game-changer. I found a welcoming community of creative people who shared their talents with me, nurtured my efforts and encouraged me to display my work. Through this experience, I joined the Belleville Art Association and participated in many juried shows. I was also inspired to take community art courses at Loyalist College and to earn qualifications through the Ontario College of Teachers. I continue to exhibit my work and to see the world around me in new ways through the eyes of an artist.
My other love is music and it has been a great satisfaction to discover connections and how the one inspires the other.
