EXECUTIVE COUNCIL REPORT - July 2025
Thank you to Renee Hiltz and Liz Eby Coxwell for delighting our audience with a demonstration of abstract art ideas at our last reception. For our July reception, with the help of a grant from the City of Belleville, we will have music and special treats as we open our annual Square Show. Please bring family and friends!
For the remainder of the summer, we will be holding an auction to purchase a beautiful mosaic table created by Karen Richey. It is on display in the window at the gallery and anyone wishing to bid on the table may do so in the gallery. Thank you so much for this beautiful donation, Karen.

EXECUTIVE COUNCIL REPORT - May 2025
Hello May!
Welcome to our new members who are quickly finding out more about our amazing artistic volunteer club. We not only show and sell our creations at the gallery, with a new show every month, but we offer many more opportunities to do so out in the community.
Watch for regular updates about these opportunities as we have a year long calendar and these venues are spread out over the year. We changeover these shows twice a year, with each venue led by a team of volunteer members who organize and carry out these changeovers. We are very proud of the opportunities that we are able to offer our members, thanks to those who step forward to help.
Something new next month, we have been invited by the Belleville Club, to show and sell our creative work so watch for the next notice which will give you the details you need in order to participate. They are accepting up to 50 artists and it will be open to the public! Thank you to Mark Turner, owner of Restoration Services and Jessica Turner for helping to create this event.

EXECUTIVE COUNCIL REPORT - April 2025
Hello April!!
So much for: “In like a lion and out like a lamb”! We are all very happy to be finished with March as far as the weather is concerned. March for the BAA however, was another great month, with a successful “Thru the Lens” show. The gallery is such a wonderful space and the artwork we display is a great source of pride.
Did you make it to the General Meeting on the 31st? If you didn’t, you should mark June 23rd on your calendar for our next meeting at the gallery (brown bag lunch meeting). Once again, the Executive Committee is so proud of our Association and we want to thank all of you who make us so worthy of that pride!!
EXECUTIVE COUNCIL REPORT - Mar 2025
Welcome to a new month and the promise of spring (hopefully)! It has been a long and snowy winter for all of us, and we all look forward to warmer and sunnier days. Mark your calendar for our General Meeting on Monday, March 31st at noon, to be held at the Gallery. These quarterly meetings will be informal, but will give members an opportunity to ask questions and relay comments. More information is in the Programming section of this newsletter.
Thank you to all our volunteers who help keep the BAA running smoothly!
EXECUTIVE COUNCIL REPORT - Feb 2025
Welcome to February, the shortest month of the year. The longest, darkest nights are behind us, and as the days lengthen, our sights are set on spring yet to come.
The first month of the year was very active for the BAA. Our Gallery reopened after being repainted, our first show of the year and open house were enjoyed by many and our Annual General Meeting was well attended by both returning and new members.
Opportunities for members going forward were presented, and as always there are many places for members to volunteer.
Thank you to all who have renewed their memberships for 2025 and welcome to new members. And many thanks to all who “answer the call” for volunteers. Our association relies on you and your commitment to keep thriving!
EXECUTIVE COUNCIL REPORT - April 2024
Our meeting on April 5th showed just how busy this team has been in March. From Show Openings to Constant Contact, the growth and vibrancy of the BAA is in full swing. Please read on...

Joyce studied at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto. Later she received her B.A. from Queen's University. After attending Peterborough Teacher's College she taught elementary school for thirty-five years. Joyce has been a member of the Belleville Art Association for over twenty-eight years. Her medium is mainly watercolour and acrylics. She enjoys painting landscapes, florals and buildings. She also has a long history of working with stained glass. Colour is very important to Joyce for its emotional values. As a retired teacher she has found that "ART" is a rewarding pastime.
